AI and Objective-C++

Hello there,
I'm a programmer that, thus far, has tried to escape the evils of C+
+. I love programming in Obj-C with Cocoa, but I'm now looking to
start coding some simple game worlds to allow me to start designing
some AI algorithms.

Every 3D engine (and video game AI book) is written in C++. However,
the game AI book I am currently reading goes into about six pages of
detail about how to write a message notification system in C++, which
Cocoa gives you for free!

I was wondering about the wisdom of perhaps attempting this project
in Objective-C++, so I can leverage the Cocoa libraries. Has anyone
tried this? Is it a good idea, or a horrible mishmash? I personally
think it sounds like a recipe for disaster, but it's such a waste of
time to have the Cocoa libraries just sitting there and allowing me
to implement something in minutes rather than hours.

What do you think?
Chris
