Back Perhaps this is a naive suggestion, but since Colibricks seems to use very simple rectangular geometry, you could use an AA trick that I have used successfully in my iTunes Visualizer "JewelCase" (and was also used in the original CoverFlow, and i believe is now used in CoreAnimation)... Namely, draw Anti-Aliased lines around the rectangular geometry. This will give you very nice AA edges, is supported on all Mac platforms including very old machines, and is very inexpensive performance-wise. If you want to see it in action, download JewelCase and turn the AA on and off to see the difference. It can take some subtle work with the Z-buffer to get a really nice look. (Note* Intel Integrated graphics on Intel MacMini doesn't look super good, but this is the only major exception). All in all, I think you will get better rendering quality and performance using this simple technique.
