I agree wholeheartedly.

But, you must bear in mind that (especially for Tiger) improvements  
to the kernel and to cocoa itself (Leopard) do make back-porting some  
of these features impossible or highly more difficult ?which is  
probably why they weren't written during the prior version of the OS  
anyway.
