Change the visual gamma correction

I wonder if OSX has an easy way to change the gamma correction for the video
surface in an opengl application in a simple way.

In windows you can do:
   ::SetDeviceGammaRamp(::GetDC(NULL), ramp);

I googled around a bit and I've found only complex methods using pixel
shaders that I prefer to avoid 'cause I've had already too much headache
supporting different GFX cards on three different OS versions :)
