You will get rid of some of the problems you mentioned if you also set the rect to VOID, Robert. Also, I set the member to 0, not VOID. Not sure if that makes a difference. I don't set the cursor to 0.
I would recommend Chuck's tutorial on IL; it also does dynamic sprite creation.

I haven't had this problem, Robert. If you visit scenes 10 or 11 of http://www.vispo.com/wfs4/documentation/tutorials/WFS40a.htm and click "create" at top left of the browser window, a dynamic window is created that contains some text members. I don't get multiple cursors here.
The above also contains a Flash sprite. Haven't had any problems with it concerning multiple cursors or anything else.
