Area fread Error

Ok, i installed the healer snippet that was ported from ROM, make clean and
recompiled, everything worked wonderfully. So then i installed the Familiar
snippet, and everything compiled fine... but the mud won't start up. I searched
the logs and found

Sat Sep 11 02:11:29 2004 :: [*****] FILE: newacad.are         LINE: 7005
Sat Sep 11 02:11:29 2004 :: [*****] BUG: Fread_number: bad  format. (;)

The area file looks normal ( and nothing has ever changed in that area):

#SHOPS
10343    0  0  0  0  0   120  90         0 23    ; Zurg
10357    0  0  0  0  0   120  90         0 23    ; a tiny pixie

I tried going back to a backup from before the Familiar snippet (healer snippet
still installed) and that started up fine... but then i tried to make clean and
recompile that and it gave me the same error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
