Yep i remember that one, it was very good and unbiased I thought, especially since you say that for developers already with d8, and not wanting 3D there was little to demand upgrading for.

Of course I was joking!
The point wasn't so much to advertise Director to 'buy good reviews' (as it doesn't need to ) more that MM should put some effort in and actually do some advertising.
I'm puzzled over why you thought you had to comment though? If you are affiliated with them, then I understand, but otherwise the fact you wrote a reiview several years ago, doesn't seem to be that relevant to jump in, epseically as it was clear I was joking.
Mind you I do believe that some dodgy deals do go on with some magazines, not necessarily with advertising, but things like exclusive's (game mags seem to be rather guilty of this). But I have to say i've never considered GD to fall into this category

Well I'm not sure thats really the point. Having not read the article, only going on Darrel's original post, it appears they chose someone with no knowledge of Director at. That I think is very questionable. You could argue that its representative review for someone new coming to Director for the first time, but then you'd have to do that we every product. Could you imagine someone writing a review about Java, Havok SDK, 3DS Max with no prior knowledge? It would be pretty useless as they'd just be too confused.
