Yes, some browsers don't fill it in, but since IE has 95% of the browser
market "some browsers" shouldn't be a major concern. AFAIK all the major
browsers (IE, Mozilla, Opera) do fill it in by default, so it shouldn't
affect the majority of legitimate users. Anyone using some other (or
reconfigured) browser will get the "access denied" movie, which should
include a message about browser compatability.

Unfortunately though, I've just been testing this using PHP, and it seems
that IE does not send the referer header to the object src file, even though
it does send it for simple links. This is a much, much bigger problem. Aside
from that the PHP technique seems to work a lot better than I expected, so
I'll see if I can find something similar that can be used.
